[WETAB] OSD ON THE WHOLE SCREEN?

2010 May 11

I must be completely nuts, preordering a tablet computer. Specifically, the WeTab. On the other Hand, all touchscreen devices I've seen suffer from the same problem: textinput.

Now, my idea is this:

It's an OSD covering the whole screen as a complete keyboard with a right-handed Dvorak keyboard layout. This layout is also available for left-handed usage.
The idea is that whenever you have to enter something with the keyboard, you just do it with one hand (yes, it requires training; maybe you can also use both hands with a traditional QWERTZ/QWERTY layout or whatever you configure) and press a button labeled "Done"; when you are, well, done.

Let's hope the WeTab will allow manipulating the default OSD keyboard in this fashion.
