[WHEREIS] INVERTED USV

Recently I talked to my best friend about low-energy houses.
We were discussing how to realize one and thought about the following setup:

Solarcells and other regenerative energy production (wind, geothermal power) to produce energy. Unused energy from these sources should go to a battery in the house. If production doesn't suffice, power is drained from the batteries. If those don't suffice anymore, drain power from the power grid.

Anyone know of a supplier of these kind of setup that is not equal to a dirty hack?
